The Pacific islands

I was lucky enough to travel across the Pacific on one of the last voyages of the Caledonien from Sydney to Marseilles. The ship took a leisurely two months to reach Marseilles, giving plenty of time to explore and absorb each port of call.
Thus I got to spend time in New Caledonia, two islands in Vanuaatu (then the French/British condominium of the New Hebrides), Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands.
The second visit to a Pacific island took place in 1987 with a week-long stay on the island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. Pictures from this latter trip are still to added to this page.
